After working in Reims, Carlo Gancia created in 1865 the first Italian sparkling wine “Spumante Italiano”.
He is the author of the official rules of the first Italian Classic Method, which are still followed today.
More than 150 years later Gancia is still making quality sparkling, distributed all over the world.
The Gancia wine cellars, based in Canelli (Piedmont) have a kilometer of underground tunnels that are classified as a UNESCO world heritage site.
